Postsecondary EducationPosted: June 20, 2011
A high school education is not enough to compete in today’s global economy. Yet by age 30 most Americans have not earned a college degree or certificate. Our Postsecondary Success Strategy aims to dramatically increase the number of young adults who complete their postsecondary education, setting them up for success in the workplace and in life.
Why College Completion? Our education system is not preparing students for the demands of a knowledge-based economy and a robust democracy. It’s critical to get this right, so that our nation’s young people and their families have the opportunity for success and financial security.
Community Colleges: We are focusing our efforts on helping community colleges improve their completion rates because they are flexible, affordable, and accessible institutions that enroll the largest number of low-income students.
